An example of my typical day (in which I make anywhere from 2000 to 7000G a day): I start with the following tools equipped, and in the following order: 1. Sprinkler 2. Brush 3. Fishing Rod 4. Milker First, as soon as I leave the cabin, I take my dog with me, set him down right outside the door, and head directly into the cow barn. Then I talk to and brush all three adult cows and my calf, in no particular order. Then I milk the adults and turn the three large milks into cheese and sell them. Then I feed all four and leave via the door to the pasture at the back of the room. I pick any weeds, and take note of whether or not the grass is ready to be cut. Then I head to the chicken range and follow the same procedure (check for weeds, look at grass). Then I go down into the chicken coop, where I have three adult chickens and one chick, and I sell the three eggs. Then I feed all four chickens, although the chick doesn't need to be fed (I can't figure out which spot in the feed bin is dedicated to my chick). Now I go back into the chicken range and go out to the right and into the sheep pasture. I follow the same procedure as I did for the previous two fields, and I go south into the sheep pen. At this time of writing, I have only one young sheep, so I just talk to it, feed it, and go out the front door. But if I had one adult sheep or more I would follow this alternate procedure (if you don't have one or more adult sheep, skip the next paragraph and continue to the one after it): Instead of having the sprinkler and fishing rod equipped at the beginning of my day, I would have the shampoo and clippers. After following the steps above for my cows and chickens, I would go into the sheep pen and shampoo and talk to each sheep. I would then clip the wool off of any sheep that were ready for it to be removed and sell it. I would feed all four, go back to the house, and trade out the shampoo and clippers for the sprinkler and fishing rod. Then I'd continue following the steps below. After leaving the sheep pen or the house as the case may be, I now go water any plants growing in the hothouse. Then I get on my horse and head to the crop fields. As soon as I enter the fields I get off my horse and let him wander around. Then I run around with my bare hands equipped and pick any weeds. Then I harvest any available plants and put them in the horse's saddlebags. Now I water any plants that I have growing. I get back on my horse and ride over the bridge to my specially-designed fishing hole. Allow me to give you a picture: cccccccccccccccccccccccccccc cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc cccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc c::::::ccccccc B c::::::cccccccB(B)B c::::::ccccc GUIDE: :::::: Bridge cccc River BBB Fence (B) Entrance Fence Note that this is basically exactly how this section of the river appears in the game. Each "B" above is an individual piece of fence. Contained between the fences and the river are two squares of empty land. On my horse, I ride perpendicular to the second piece of fence on the bottom [the "B" in (parentheses)]. Then I ride up and jump over it. While still facing up to the river, I jump off of my horse and land on the only other open space in the fenced area. I get out my fishing rod and fish in the river to my left. Now, whenever I catch a fish, all I have to do is turn around and throw it into the horse's saddlebag. I fish until the screen changes color, indicating that it's afternoon (in other words, I fish until 3 PM). This can easily get me 2500-4000G a day. As soon as it's time to go, I get on my horse and ride up to my house. Then I get off and carry my dog inside. I go to the storage bin and trade the sprinkler for the super ax. Now it's time to go into town. I go to Daisy's flower shop first. I talk to her, get any necessary seeds, and leave (I go here and talk to her even if I don't need any seeds). Then I go left to the church, and I pray with Cain. Then I talk to her and leave. Now I go left and down to the library (if I know it's going to rain/storm the next day, I go to Ken at the carpenter shop first and get him to come give me an estimate on the third house upgrade). I talk to Mary and read any books I feel like looking at. Then I go right to the restaurant and talk to Rosie, and I get any food or drinks I might need. I go right and up to Bill's tool shop, and I talk to him and buy anything that I can afford (right now all I have the option to buy is the butter maker, and I'll buy that as soon as I get 30,000G). So now I'm done with the village. I leave and go up to the mountain, equip the super ax, and chop every stump. Time permitting, that is, before 7 PM, I leave via the southern entrance, run through again, and chop each stump again. Then I take the secret exit to the right of the hot spring (through the trees) and end up back on my farm. If I have any odd jobs to do I do them now. I cut any grass, hoe any soil, plant any seeds, and I fish and stock my pond. I never work later than 10 PM unless it's absolutely necessary. Once I'm done with these chores I go back in my house, sometimes play a video game or two, write in my diary, and go to sleep. That's the end of my typical Harvest Moon 2 day. It is very profitable, and provides care for all my animals, as well as socialization with the townfolk and purchasing of items. Note that on Sunday, when all the shops are closed, I just go to the church and go to straight to the mountain. Then I have more time to chop wood or do the odd jobs. This routine might take a while to get used to, but once you have it down, it works quite well. Covert - 9:26 PM 09/07/2001
