Harvest Moon 3 Events

Harvest Moon 3 for the Gameboy is quite a revolutionary game in the Harvest Moon series, and it shows in the events. This is because Harvest Moon 3 takes place in a more modern environment and therefore eleminates many festivals and town events. Say goodbye to the Harvest Festival, and hello to the busy city! However, there are some certain events that can be listed here.

Ferry - The ferry runs on Mondays and Thursdays, and gives you free access to the mainland, where you'll do all of your shopping and spend some leisure time. The ferry only runs on sunny days.

Marriage - This can occur any time between Summer of the first year to never. Be extra nice to your partner (give them lots of gifts) to speed up the process. Note that if you play as the girl, the game ends as soon as you get married, so consider whether or not it's worth it...

Earthquake - This occurs around the middle of the second Spring. The earthquake will bridge the gap in the mountain and allow you access to the cave at the top, where you'll find a piece of glacial ice. Take the ice to the man at the mall that sold you the rugs and TV, and he'll fix it up for you and give you a storage bin that will let food last forever.

Hurricanes - On the 11th and 21st days of Summer, annually, heavy hurricanes will hit the island. These hurricanes will destroy some of your crops, and cause your animals to become unhappy, because you can't go outside to feed them when it's storming.

Heavy Snow - Annually, on the 1st through 5th days and 20th through 25th days of Winter, heavy snow storms will hit the island. These have the same devestating effects as the hurricanes.

Fireworks - On the 20th of Summer Kate will ask you to join her on the cliff to watch the fireworks. If you consent, go there at 8 PM and you'll get to see a stunning display.

Red Secret - The 24th of Fall, go to the forest maze and enter the area with the lake before noon and the water will be red. There's a story behind it; otherwise, the water's just pretty to look at.

Date - Your partner will ask you out on a date with them. You'll go to the cliff and spend some quality time together. When this happens, you'll be almost guaranteed of marriage in the near future.

Fertilizer Maker - Once you've had more than 50000G for quite some time, your partner will say they've seen a fertilizer maker advertised on TV. It'll cost about 49000G and will make fertilizer automatically out of decayed food from your storage bin. Put the fertilizer down on tilled soil before planting seeds to decrease the plant's growing times.

Fishing Rod - Be nice to Billy a whole lot, and give him a ton of stuff. Crops grown on your farm are better than berries or cherries, but anything will do. Eventually, Billy will ask to borrow your hammer. If you let him, he'll return it the next day you see him, along with a fishing rod. Fish a lot to make thousands of dollars a day!

Boat - Keep being nice to Billy after he gives you the fishing rod, and start being nice to Elza, and eventually they'll give you the boat. This will let you go anywhere in the ocean you want, and let you go to the other island whenever you please. It also allows for ocean fishing, and access to the mermaid's cave.

River King - During Spring of the second year go talk to the manager of the Aquarium, Cozy. He'll say something about catching the River King in the forest maze from 6 PM to 12 AM. Once you catch it, you can sell it for quite a bit, take a part-time job that requests you catch it and make 50000G, give it to Cozy and fill up the rest of the Aquarium for a Power Berry, or give it to anyone to boost your relationship with them substantially. The day after you catch it, go back to the forest maze, and you'll find an egg. The egg will take one-two seasons to hatch, and will become a little monster you can use to talk to your animals and increase their love levels.
