The shops are all on the other island, and you must take the ferry from your island on Mondays and Thursdays to go there. You will be able to go any day of the week once you get your own boat, but don't count on that until late in the first year or early the second. The shops below begin with the purple building in the top left, and cycle clockwise.
1. Theatre - The movie theatre shows a new film every season (well, I guess none of the films are new after the first year). Watching a film for 1500G will increase your happiness, but will take 2 hours out of your day. It opens at 11 AM.
2. Aquarium - This opens at 10 AM, and lets you view all the fish available on the island - if you provide them. Catch fish and bring them here, and you'll get a power berry for filling the whole thing up.
3. Dock - This is where you start after traveling across the ocean from your island. It's also where you go when you want to leave. The morning fair is held Tuesdays and Saturdays here.
4. Farm Union - This large shop sells grass seeds, has a bank in the lower left, sells most tools, assigns part-time jobs, and sells and buys animals, among other things. You can enter your horses in horse races at the desk in the lower right, as well as enter your cow in a contest.
5. Mall - The mall has just about everything else. It's two stories; on the first floor you'll find the restaurant and the seed shop, and on the second floor you'll find the book shop and home improvements shop. Many useful items can be bought in this building.
