Harvest Moon 3 Tools

These are the various tools you can get in the game.

Hand - You start with this, of course. Use it to pick up stuff.

Sickle - You start with this. It's used to cut your grass into fodder. It can be upgraded twice. Level 1 cuts a 1x1 area, level 2 cuts a 1x3 area, and level 3 cuts a 3x3 area.

Hoe - You start with this. It's used to till your soil so you can plant crops. It can be upgraded twice. Level 1 hoes 1 square, level 2 hoes 3 squares, and level 3 hoes 6 squares.

Axe - You start with this. It's used to chop up stumps to store as lumber. It can be upgraded twice. Level 1 chops a stump in 6 hits, level 2 chops a stump in 3 hits, and level 3 chops a stump in 1 hit.

Hammer - You start with this. It's used to break up rocks. It can be upgraded twice. All levels break small rocks in 1 hit, but level 1 breaks big rocks in 6 hits, level 2 breaks big rocks in 3 hits, and level 3 breaks big rocks in 1 hit.

Water Can - You start with this. It's used to water your crops so they'll grow. It can be upgraded twice. Level 1 waters a 1x1 area, level 2 waters a 1x3 area, and level 3 waters a 3x3 area.

Shovel - You get this from inside the spa building. Use it three times on each light colored square in the middle of the spa building to dig a hot tub. You can also use it to dig streams to plant wheat and rice, and use for a sprinkler.

Miracle Glove - The guy starts with this. It works just like the hand, except instead of throwing stuff down, it automatically places crops in the storage shed when thrown down.

Cow Medicine - Buy this for 1000G at the Farmers' Union. Use it to cure sick cows.

Chicken Medicine - Buy this for 800G at the Farmers' Union. Use it to cure sick chickens.

Sheep Medicine - Buy this for 1500G at the Farmers' Union. Use it to cure sick sheep.

Horse Medicine - Buy this for 2000G at the Farmers' Union. Use it to cure sick horses.

Milker - The girl starts with this. Use this to milk adult female cows.

Brush - The girl starts with this. Use this to brush and groom horses and cows to make them happy.

Shampoo - The girl can buy this for 800G at the Farmers' Union. Use it to shampoo sheep to make them happier.

Shears - The girl can buy this for 2000G at the Farmers' Union. Use it to cut an adult sheep's wool.

Sprinkler - Buy this for 50000G at the Farmers' Union. Place it in a stream dug with the shovel and it will automatically water a 9x9 area at 6 AM.

Scarecrow - Buy this for 3200G at the Farmers' Union. Place it anywhere in your crop field and it will keep birds from randomly eating your crops.

Saddle - Buy this for 1000G at the Shopping Mall. Use it to ride your adult horses.

Mysterious Egg - Get this after catching the King of the Lake. It'll take three seasons to hatch into a monster that will help you talk to your animals.

Fodder Set - Buy this for 500G at the Farmers' Union. It provides 32 fodder that you can use to feed your animals if you run out.

Snowboard - Buy this for 30000G at the Shopping Mall. Use it to snowboard at the grassland during the winter.

Fishing Rod - Get this from Billy. Be really nice to him and eventually he'll ask to borrow your hammer. Let him and the next day you see him he'll give you back your hammer and a fishing rod. Use it to catch fish (worth twice as much as berries in half as much time!).

Fertilizer - Buy this for 49900 from the TV when your partner sees an ad for it. Use it to make your crops grow twice as fast.
