Overview

Platform - Sony Playstation 2

In Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland, the whole objective is to save the farm and your village from ruin. There are nine different ways to do this, and it's possible to get every ending in the same game. You'll have to become really good friends with everyone in the village to do it, however.

Controls

X - Pick up item/open doors/throw item/talk/confirm selection

O - Cancel menu/go back

[] - Use tool/eat item

/\ - Center view (camera)

Select - View map screen

Start - Pause game and bring up rucksack
< Clock - What time it is...
< Gold - How much money you have...
< Belongings - Take a belonging out of your rucksack by pressing X twice
< Tool - Equip a tool by pressing X twice
< Key Items - These items are important to the game but cannot be directly used

L1 - Call your dog

L2 - Call your horse

R1 - Scroll through items/put item in rucksack

R2 - Scroll through tools

Left Analog Stick - Move character

Right Analog Stick - Move camera

How to Play

There's no need to clear your field in this Harvest Moon game. Just go buy some seeds as soon as possible. Water them every day and in no time you'll have a bountiful harvest. Then you can buy some animals from the Green Ranch and raise them. As soon as you've gotten the farming part of the game down, you need to focus on interaction with the townsfolk. Make friends by giving gifts, and then try to complete all nine endings to save the homeland.
