Remember the Divided Land map I made for Company of Heroes last year? Yeah, that’s all right, because it’s new and improved, with some added textures and bug fixes, and – most importantly – it now supports up to six players. Download version 1.1 right here.
In similar news, I’ve finished another Company of Heroes map that, unfortunately, didn’t quite turn out how I would’ve liked. It’s a remake of Operation Market Garden from Battlefield 1942, and I tried to capture the feel of the map as accurately as I could. The problem is that I accidentally made it too small, so it’s pretty cramped and can barely support four players (one on one probably works fine). Still, I think it ended up looking good, at least, and it’s got some gorgeous roads.
The key to the map is control of the two bridges, as one might assume. Losing the control points at the bridges cuts off supply from essentially every point on the map. There’s a problem with the big bridge in that it doesn’t blow up properly, so once it’s gone it cannot be repaired. Regardless, it was a labor of love. It should work with both Opposing Fronts as well as the original Company of Heroes.
